LNBP Community Boating are pleased to announce details of our Taster Days Weekend for Spring 2025.

Our Taster Days are the ideal opportunity for leaders and organisers of community and youth groups and organisations to come and experience everything we can offer from residential trips on our boats on the canals here on the Northamptonshire-Warwickshire border.

It’s a weekend or day out to ‘try before you buy’. You get the opportunity to meet and chat to members of our team and our project skippers, come aboard our boats to see everything we can offer to you and your group first-hand, plus we will take you out on Lancelot and Guinevere to experience what your group can expect to look forward to out on the canal.

So when is this opportunity taking place?

Over the weekend of Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th March, 2025. We are offering Scout and Guiding Leaders, and leaders and organisers of communty and youth groups a complementary taster ‘stay and play’ with us.  

Arrive Friday night and stay on our boats before cruising Saturday, climbing the Braunston Flight (six locks – 18m ascent) and then through the 1800 metre Braunston Tunnel (in the dark!). It is an experience you will want to do and for your group to also enjoy!
Once through the tunnel, cruise to Norton Junction before turning the boat and returning to Braunston. This is a round trip of approximately 6 to 7 hours.
Alternatively arrive Saturday evening, stay aboard and sample the trip on Sunday.
This trip and opportunity is limited to two leaders per group. Simply bring your own food for breakfast and lunch and evening meal (Alternatively there are four local pubs in the village of Braunston that serve good evening food that you might wish to sample). Also you will need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow.

Once all places are booked and allocated, we will introduce a waiting list in case of any last minute cancellations and offer priority to those unsuccessful this time for our next Taster Weekends which are ear-marked for the Summer and Autumn 2025.
