Our recent Annual General Meeting also saw signaled an end to an era of sorts with the retirement of LNBP stalwart Chris Woodward.

Chris has been involved with LNBP Community Boating for 37 years. In that time he has covered many roles and supported the project in so many ways including as Boat Skipper, Training Manager and latterly as Vice Chairman for Boats.

However having given prior notice Chris has decided to retire from the project. LNBP’s AGM, which was once again held during the weekend of the Crick Boat Show, was a fitting occasion and gathering for Chris to call time on his fantastic long service with LNBP, with officials, members and guests having opportunity to collectively and individually thank him for all the time he has spent supporting the project spanning almost four decades.

The picture below is of the present LNBP gave Chris Woodward on his retirement. LNBP Booking Officer Nigel Smith commissioned a local artist to paint a water colour showing one of LNBP’s project boats passing under the bridge at the junction of the North Oxford and Grand Union Canals at Braunston.

Needless to say Chris will be very much missed by everyone at LNBP Community Boating, and we wish him and wife Di best wishes for the future (we will no doubt see them both in times to come)
