The Festival season got underway last weekend (16th and 17th May) with our now-regular attendance at The Moira Canal Festival
The Moira Canal Festival is a family event held every year on the restored section of the Ashby Canal, at the historic Moira Furnace Museum, on the North West Leicestershire and South Derbyshire border.
It aims to raise awareness of, and money for, the restoration, extension and maintenance of the Ashby Canal.
Although we did not have either of our boats in attendance, we had a very active and productive two days. Our face painting team of Karen and Trish saw plenty of business come their way to keep them on their toes, with another healthy figure received from donations, plus of course some very useful enquiries and interest for potential future trips with us.
Thanks to Karen and Trish for their sterling efforts, and also the organisers of the Moira Canal Festival for making us feel so welcome.
