LNBP Community Boating are pleased and thankful to announce receipt of a donation from the Columbus Fellowship.

Similar to LNBP, Columbus Fellowship are a charity who provides education and training and and helps children and young people.

They are very much a similar organisation to LNBP in that for many years they have operated ‘adventure’ and outdoor-based camping / boating / water sport and mountain activities to teenagers who may otherwise have been financially excluded from participation, and the personal development that this type of activity offers.

However, they are winding down the charity’s operations after 60 years and as such progressing a phased distribution of the realised funds to kindred organisations with due regard to the requirements of both the Charity Commission and its organisation’s constitution.

LNBP are pleased and privileged to be one of the recipients to this exercise and it has arisen that the Treasurer for the Columbus Fellowship is a keen narrow-boater and recommended LNBP for a donation having seen one or both of our boats when ‘out and about’ on the waterways in the Midlands.

Subsequently the Chairman of the Columbus Fellowship, Mr Tony Cheetham, approached LNBP and in turn they have now provided us with a generous donation.

Mr Cheetham also added,

“I am really pleased that we could help you with your excellent cause.”

LNBP Community Boating wishes to express our most sincere thanks to Mr Cheetham and all associated with the Columbus Fellowship for thinking of and considering us for their generous donation. In similar vein to their previous workings this will be used by us for and towards the benefit of children and young people.
