It may come as no surprise that news has come through that the 2020 Crick Boat Show has been cancelled.

The Show, which was again due to run over the May Whitsun Bank Holiday, had already been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, with new dates being potentially ear-marked for the Show to be held over a day or weekend this Autumn.

However the situation with the pandemic has forced the Show’s Organisers to cancel the event, just like so many others have had to do over the last few months.

In a statement on the Crick Boat Show website , the Show Director said:-

We have delayed making a decision on potential revised dates for Crick Show 2020 for as long as possible in the hope that we would be able to plan with more certainty. However, it is increasingly apparent that we could pick dates and be over-run by changing circumstances all too quickly – as illustrated recently by the changing news on Spanish holidays and quarantine.
We are reluctantly announcing, therefore, that there will be no live Crick Boat Show in 2020.
However, we are very actively exploring some ideas for a “Virtual” Show for 2020. We have seen some of these in operation and think that there will be some really good opportunities for the boating world – it would be terrific if our sector could be seen to be leading the way in this respect.
For anyone who has bought tickets and booked camping or mooring for 2020 in advance we will be in touch directly with the options available. The options are likely to include special access to any Virtual Show in 2020 or privileged access to the 2021 Show. For those of you who would prefer a refund, this will also be available.

Whilst this is a disappointment to everyone and all here at LNBP Community Boating – especially as we are the Show’s Official Charity Partner and trip boat operators for the event, we look forward to returning to Crick in May 2021.
