The boating season may have drawn to a close but it was certainly a busy weekend just gone for our team here at LNBP.
Saturday saw our boat skippers and other members of the Executive gather together in Braunston for our Skippers Workshop and Winterising Weekend.
We were based at Braunston Scouts base in the village and it was great to see so many of our team on Saturday morning, with several members having especially early starts to travel up – some even coming up and staying on board our boats overnight.
After a very productive morning of discussion on a wide range of topics, many of the Skippers then made their way canalside for the winterising side of the weekend. With a host of works lined up, again it was opportunity to essentially put both boats to bed for the winter!
Once again a huge thank you to everyone who came along and contributed. Thank you also to Di for the great catering!
Then on Sunday Chris and Di Woodward along with Graham Hetherington headed down to Maidstone for Kent Scouts Inspire 2016 event.
Inspire 2016
Inspire is a proverbial marketplace of ideas and activities for Scouting, and as such is attended by a whole host of APLs, PLs, Young Leaders, Explorers, adult leaders, helpers and Trustees.
The feedback received from the show was very positive, as Graham quoted:-
“It was an interesting day and we spoke to a number of people at length which is always a good sign. I feel confident and naturally hope that some of these will translate to bookings”.

Thank you to the organisers of Inspire 2016 for allowing us to showcase what we do and participate in such a great event.
And thank you also to everyone who took time and came along to our stand to find out more about what we do and what we can offer to Scouting groups. Naturally we hope to see you aboard Lancelot and Guinevere in the near future.
