LNBP Community Boating will be even more of a striking sight on the towpaths and canals of central England in times to come after supporting one of our partners in their fundraising efforts.
We have recently purchased two pink life jackets from Crewsaver as part of their initiative to raise awareness and raise vital funds for breast cancer awareness.
Earlier this year Crewsaver played in an integral part with Midlands Chandlers in supporting LNBP with the joint handover of a new supply of life jackets to us at the 2024 Crick Show.
It was during this event and conversations leading up to it that we were made aware of Crewsaver’s campaign for this year.
At the start of 2024 they unveiled a special limited edition of their iconic Crewfit 165N Sport lifejacket in vibrant pink, designed to raise awareness and vital funds for breast cancer awareness with 100% of sales being donated to Cancer Research UK.
The Crewfit 165N Sport is compact, lightweight, and packed with essential safety features to ensure the wearer remains as safe as possible when out on the water. Its unique bladder shape ensures the wearer is rotated into a face-up position, even if unconscious with its Fusion 3D technology providing safety, comfort and a customised fit for everyday recreational boaters.
A limited quantity of the unique lifejackets have been manufactured, proudly displaying the pink ribbon symbol synonymous with breast cancer. They were exclusively available via a donation link through a dedicated funding page, with a minimum donation of £100.
Having supported us in our efforts, we thought it would be a good idea to reciprocate, so with the support of a number of our Executive Member and Trustees who donated an amount each – with one member contributing to purchase one life jacket outright – we now have two pink life jackets in stock ready for use on our boats and out on the canals for next year.
The pink life jackets look fabulous and will make for a striking presence on the towpath or on our boats for years to come.
This is also particularly relevant and significant with October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, an opportunity to raise awareness of the disease, provide support to women with breast cancer and to highlight how early screening can significantly improve the chances of a successful outcome.
LNBP are proud to support the awareness and fundraising efforts of Crewsaver which at the time of writing has already surpassed their original target of £15,000.00, topping close to £17,500.00.
There is still opportunity to buy one of these fabulous life jackets from Crewsaver HERE with all the proceeds going to such a worthwhile cause.
